My Farm Crew
This is my "Main Man"...Diamond Isle's Knight Dreamer. He answers to Dreamer....he is a 12 year old registered American Saddlebred, standing at 17 hands. I purchased him when he was seven months old and to this day and everyday I say a thank you for him being in my life. This guy made a huge impact on my life...for the better. He is my best buddy!! He's the chestnut that looks like a giant next to a 15 hand horse.
This is my husband's horse Spirt....we bought him at the Innisfail auction cheap.....what a deal we got! He is an incrediable horse.

I freakin love hubbies horse, the colour on him is to DIE for. Was he broke when you purchased him from the auction?
Re: My Farm Crew
Well an eighty year old man rode him in the ring!! Spirit was auctioned as broke, but lets just say green broke Two years later, he is still for an experienced rider only. Bring up to the mountains and he will go through anything you ask him. We love him dearly!!
He LOVES our granddaughter....

Then came Night Ride Home...19 year old American Saddlebred. I have only had her going on three years and she gave me a stunning foal last June. One of her foals from the same stud produced a show winner, who lives in the states. He is a Futurity Grand Champion and still winning.
Here is Jetta from this year.

Next is Rock Star's Blaze of Glory reg. American Saddlebred...a.k.a Carmen. She comes from Archie Hurst's barn in Sherwood Park. His daughter did a wonderful job in making Carmen the horse she is at 4 years old....the farm clown!!
This is her first time in harness. She was bugging my husband over the fence when he was trying to harness up Spirit, so he took her out of the pen and put the harness on her!! She was a pro...

Re: My Farm Crew
This black beauty was owned by a dear friend who started the Saddlebred addiction 14 years ago. She breeds for the Georgian Grandes (cross a saddlebred with a Friesian or draft). Raisin as we call her, came up for sale last year from Grande Isle Farms, which I just missed out on the sale. So that is when Carmen came home. Last novemeber I found out she was for sale again and hauled her home from Vancouver Island. Her registered name is Grande Isle's Absolutely Radiant. Raisin will be three this year. She is all saddlebred, but I call her my Friesian wanna bee

Quite the collection of horses you have. I liked reading the little stories you included about each one and how they came to be with you. They are all lovely....love the little hubby horse, the color and the little bulldog build! The pinto looks stunning under harness.

Re: My Farm Crew
This is Cowboy....another lucky day finding this guy. A neighbour stopped by passing out flyers for her lost dog and we got chatting about horses. She happened to be moving and was looking to sell her horses. I got him and his buddy with three saddles for a thousand dollars. Found a great home for his pasture buddy and hit the jackpot with this guy. Anybody can ride him and he has the smoothest trot I have ever rode

Re: My Farm Crew
TradeMark you have a good eye for saddlebreds! Maybe I am bias due to him being my life saver, but he would of been great for dressage or jumping. Dreamer has the drive to please and will do anything I ask of him. I feel bad that I never done anything but trail ride with him. He is going to be trained this year to drive with Carmen. Raisin I am hoping to match her up with a dressage trainer....that girl has some incrediable moves!!TradeMark wrote:You have a group of horses to die for! What a lovely bunch.. This is my foal from last year....Attache's Queen Of Hearts...reg American Saddlebred filly. Her barn name is Juno and has the built and bloodlines to go in any direction. She should mature too 16 hands. Her full brother is a Futurity Grand Champion and still winning! Juno has always been a "Look at me"....I can show off with the best of them!! Juno is For Sale
This is last summer at four months
This is from February. Looking a bit scruffy.
Got her name from the three hearts on her nose.
She always comes running at me at warp speed and turns at the last minute!! LOL
