The horses I call mine
Just thought I wouldkind of introduce my horses since I've been here for a couple days now. Looking forward to learning about everyone and their gang as well!
I'm going to have to do this in sections lol
First up is Vinny... he's a coming 5 (late July) old Hanoverian x Selle Francais gelding, out of a Wodan mare by Roskof, who will be showing under the name "Roosevelt". I will have bought him coming 4 years ago as an unhandled yearling, we've learned an awful lot together, and he's just an unbelievable boy (we all say that though lol!). He was literally my childhood dream horse (hanoverian, chestnut, 4 socks and a blaze), and I found him completely by accident when I made a trip with my friend to purchase her gelding, and he was in the next feild. The breeder I purchased him from dropped her price so that I could get him, and he's the best thing that's ever happened to me. We'll be in the show ring this year, and will be starting over fences work.

Lex is an 8yr old Thoroughbred, who I've had for coming 2 years now, he's incredible.. I find myself surprised by him all the time. His last owner was ready to just do away with him, and if no one would take him was ready to consider putting him down. He was very misunderstood.. I heard horrible stories about him, and after handling him, knew that he was destined for more. After letting him have some time off and then getting back into work, he proved himself and what he enjoyed.. he absolutely loves jumping, and has some stunning movement. He's straight forward, and certainly a fun ride. I bought him with the purpose to find him a new home, and we're still looking for the right person.. until then, I'm more than happy to enjoy him though.

Re: The horses I call mine
Last but not least, Faith is a coming 2yr old Draft/Paint cross filly, who I purchased from a good friend of mine (who actually just joined this forum as well!). Her dam is a feral draft cross mare, and Faith definitely got the dominent, stubborn, brave personality that her mom expresses as well. She's just a doll, and she's got a big future a head of her, I'm hoping that she will eventually spot in dressage and jumping as well, possibly eventing with her fearless nature. So we'll see!

Re: The horses I call mine
Wierd question but why do people clip their horses hair in those patterns?
Re: The horses I call mine
Depending on why you're clipping, people will leave different patterns. With Vinny, I did a full clip.. you leave the hair on their legs and face though for warmth, they don't have much meat in those places lol. the patch for the saddle is just extra "padding", and to prevent saddle rubs
