Just wondering I just moved here and if you want to go to an open show do you need some type of horse council membership.
In BC you do!!!
Thank You

Someone may know this for sure, so if I'm wrong, someone please correct me.. but depending on the type of show, I don't think you do. If you are looking at Schooling Shows for example, you do not need any paper work (other than maybe AEF insurance.. Alberta Equestrian Federation, just google it if you are unfamiliar and their website will come up). What type of showing are you looking into?
Again, if this is wrong, any one feel free to correct me lol!

The AEF, Alberta Equestrian Federation is the AB equivalant to HCBC. It depends on the show....you may or may not....but of course it does not hurt to get your membership (insurance) if anything happens to you regardless of where you are at. Most local shows, don't require it, some do though. Some shows require you be a member of their local organization just for insurance reasons as well.....so double check those show books and make some calls if going to a show.
