QUESTION HELP!!!!
JUST WANTED TO KNOW HOW SAFE IT WAS TO BREED A MARE AS A 2 YR OLD AND HAVE HER FOAL AS A 3 YR OLD?? THE MARE I OWN RIGHT NOW THEY DID LIKE THAT AND SHES FINE BUT I WANTED TO GET A FEW OPINIONS BEFORE I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD NEXT YEAR. I HAVE 1 FILLY THAT I JUST REALLY WANT FOR A BROODMARE, I HAVE NO INTENT ON BREAKING HER FOR RIDING, AND IM NOT GUNNA MAKE MONEY ON HER IF SHES NOT BROKE. SHE HAS ALL THE LINES I WANT AND CONFORMATION THAT WILL CROSS BEAUTIFULLY WITH MY STUD.
HELP!!!!!

I would not breed a two year old. She is not physically mature or developed. Breeding her will take away from her own growth and bone development. She should be 3 or ideally 4 before being bred.
It would also seem wise to put a few rides on her just in case circumstances change and you need to sell her. As well, it will increase the value of her foals if she has show experience and has proven herself.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT. IT REALLY HELPS OUT, SEEINGS HOW I SHOULD WAIT THEN NEXT SPRING ILL START HER AND GET HER GOING GOOD OVER THE SUMMER THEN BREED HER THE NEXT, MY HUSBANDS GUNNA SHOOT ME WHEN HE FINDS OUT IM KEEPING HER LOL
