2009 KWPN Foal - bred to be a top level competitor!
This foal is due June 17 from a 16.3 hh STER mare imported from the Netherlands and sired by the late Olympic Ferro. Onilia is a stunning mover with lots of size and presence.
Her sire, Olympic Ferro, is a world famous dressage horse and Olympic silver medalist at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. As a three-year-old he was champion of his performance test at Ermelo, where he achieved the outstanding results of 6.5--step, 8.5--trot and 8.5 gallop. He can be relied upon to produce beautiful, typy, talented offspring of the highest quality. Fantastic toplines and an elegant look characterize his get. In addition to their dressage excellence, Olympic Ferro's offspring also make good jumpers. Olympic Ferro is #1 on the BN World Stallion Rankings for dressage and is the top stallion and pride of the Netherlands, affectionately known as the "Black Pearl." In the 2002 Olympic’s Ferro once again had the highest scores on the Dutch Olympic team.
The foal’s sire, Sir Sinclair of Iron Spring Farm, is a very talented dressage stallion as well as sire. "Sir Sinclair is the perfect combination of temperament, talent and bloodlines. An impressive athlete, he’s posted scores as high at 87% at Dressage at Devon and was named the 2005 National FEI 6 Year Old Champion and USDF FEI 6 Year Old Horse of the Year.” In 2006, Sir Sinclair won the Prix St. George Challenge at Dressage at Lexington, with a score of 72.5%. As a sire he’s equally remarkable. In Holland he has 18 Star daughters and 2 Approved sons, Wesley and Welcome Sir. In the U.S. he’s produced 30 first premium foals and won Get of Sire in 2006, 2007 and 2008 at the Dressage at Devon Breed Show. Sir Sinclair’s yearling son, Bien Sir ISF, was named 2007 Dressage at Devon Breed Show Grand Champion, besting all other horses at the prestigious event. Sir’s offspring have won dozens of ribbons at the Dressage at Devon Breed Show each year. In 2008, he qualified for the USEF National Developing Horse Dressage Championship.
