Training Opennings for June

I have two opennings for training in June (beginning or mid month) at Hillside Stable, located East of Sherwood Park (in Ardrossan). Starting under saddle, trail riding, starting over fences, Dressage, or correcting existing problems. Lessons on your horse are included in training if warrented. Horses can be shown as well. Focus is mostly english, however I also do basic western work and have been working with more and more western horses this year.

I do not use draw reins, martingales or curb bits (unless the horse is at a level where a curb is needed for showing), and instead train based on an understanding of biomechanics and classical dressage to help horses perform in a way that best suites them and their rider.

Horses must be age 3 or older to be started under saddle (I do not ride two year olds), and I have started horses as old as 12 under saddle. I do require that horses coming for training are at least halter trained.

I also work on horses that have trouble with their feet being handled and have a farrier who is very good at first trims even on older horses.

I am open to training all breeds of horses at least 13.2 hands tall, although I only have limited experience with gaited breeds (gaited morgans). I have worked with Morgans, Friesans, various Warmbloods, Drafts and Draft crosses, Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, grades and others.
