The loves of my horse related life ;)
Well, seeing as how we are introducing our horses, I guess I will throw mine in as well!
This is Poco Mac Dillon. AQHA gelding born in 1991. I had him until he was 12 years old, and then sold him to a great gal who I talk to almost every day as I was moving from BC to Calgary.

Next is Oz, my present horse. I bought him after moving to Calgary and then took him up to St Paul, AB with me when I moved. He is a registered "breeding stock" paint. Though he is eligible to be changed to the regular Paint registry as he has one white patch about the size of my hand. Poor excuse for a paint! LOL. He is currently registered as smack's Classic by his owner at birth, though through talking with APHA I have found I am also able to change his name for a fee.... so I think I am going to re-register him, and submit a new name... img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

He is pretty handsome! I love how long his mane was, I wish my horses would stop chewing each others mane off!
Re: The loves of my horse related life ;)
dont be too envious, shorty after the long mane photos he ended up boarding with an old appy mare who chewed his mane down to nothing... I had to cut what long parts were left to avoid him wearing the equine version of a mullet.
He now has his mane back again, thankfully his new buddies on the farm out here are more interested in eating grass than each others hair!

LOL, Dang horse eh?! All of my horses had long manes until they come here, and then they just seem to chew. They all have equine mullets now!
Re: The loves of my horse related life ;)
Maybe it will become fashionable. Then we will have a head start on the competition.... you cant just create a horse mullet, it has to happen naturally, over time.
I just saw the add you posted in the horses for sale. I saw your little mare listed on another site two days ago... and have been pulling my hair out wishing I was closer to your side of the province, I would give my right arm for her... well maybe not a limb, but you know what I mean!

We`re 4 miles east of lamont. Instead of going past Yeychie`s on the highway (they changed the highway number but used to be 637 but now 29) you go straight into Lamont, past the schools across high way 15 past beaver Creek Co-op go up the park hill ( that is one of our pasture 1/4`s) hang a left and we are 1 1/2 mile down. <G>
Once we start having the darn babies and it warm up a bit you will have to stop in! if you like long manes we have them! LOL. Even our belgian mares have manes close to 3 feet long.

That last pic of you in the field is GEORGOUS. I love the lighting and everything. Was it done professionally or just a friend with a real good camera?
Re: The loves of my horse related life ;)
Thank you so much for saying so! My boyfriend is a professional photographer and shoots with a nikon D20.
I posted a handful of photos under the "other services section".... and here is his website if you want to see more of his work!

Re: The loves of my horse related life ;)
Thank you! We come out there about once a year.... I love BC so much, I feel like I left half of my heart there. We will be going through that area on our way down to mainland in the summer. I am going to make a stop in Armstrong to see my old horse, the bay gelding that is pictured. He has moved up there with his new owner and I am itching to get to ride him again.
Thank you so much for the compliments. Alberta does for sure get the skies....but BC has the beautiful, lush greenery, the mountains and the milder climate.
