Just an introduction
Hello to all in Alberta (and those from other provinces who may be visiting!!),
My name is Heather and I moved to Alberta from Newfoundland 3 years ago. I have been involved with horses for 20 years, getting my first pony when I was 3 (yes I know I was spoiled). I have both shown and ridden for pleasure. During my showin career, I have shown in Hunter, Jumper, Hack, Equitation, and dressage as well as in many Western events (horsemanship, pleasure, trail, reining, and games).
About 4 years ago I took a bad spill that layed me up for about 4 months, which severly shook my confidence, to say the least. I started riding seriously again when I moved to Alberta thanks to a chance meeting with a woman who let me free lease her horse. I have since bought my own again and plan to start competing with him this year.
The equine child in my life is a 4 year old TB named Levi that I started under saddle last year. He is 15.2 HH and acts like a big baby. The plan is to start eventing him this year and possibly get into some jumper shows with him over the next year or so.
Well, that's my story........time to wake up now!!! LOL If anyone is ever in the Wetaskiwin area, drop me a line and we can grab a coffee/tea/hot chocolate/some kind of beverage!!!!

eventing
Hi,
Enjoyed your introduction...I too have recently returned to competition competing in small local shows over the last few years and have really enjoyed it. My goal now is to return to eventing either this year or next. I have the horse, just no trailer and live in NE Alberta (so a good 2 plus hour drive) Anyways, there is a course somewhere near Morinville, it's called 'Mind's Eye' if you look it up on the internet. It looks like they have mini-course introduction competition days, which would be just perfect. Have you evented in the past? I used to, 20 years ago! Was at the preliminary level, now I'd just like to start at the 'starter' level.

Re: Just an introduction
My first event was last year. I was eventing someone else's horse and it was a first for both of us. I have only ever gone at the pre-entry level so far, and that is where I'm starting with my horse. I have heard of Mind's Eye, but havn't been there myself. I'm starting with the event at Beaumont in June. Maybe I'll see you at an event in the future!!!

you recognize me?
I'd love to hear more, where do you recognize me from ? I've been in Alberta and in love with horses in general (showing, training, teaching etc) for about 30 years.
