Hello From Northern Alberta!
Hello all!
I'm relatively new to riding- I was introduced to the equine world only about four years ago. After my first ride on an old, bomb-proof Arabian, the horse of a family friend, I went on to take formal riding lessons at a showbarn for two years. After numerous accidents and one particularly bad fall- I had been bucked off, all while cantering- I became scared of riding and cantering again. I then moved to a smaller, pleasure stable, where I gained my confidence again. After three years of riding, I decided it was time to buy a horse of my own- and despite my originally wanting an older horse, I wound up with a 17hh seven year-old Dutch warmblood. He's absolutely perfect for me. Very well-trained, he takes care of me under saddle and is quite sassy at times, but I've learned so much from him and we get along perfectly. My confidence has increased so much since buying him this past August. Pictures of him will be up soon.
I've been lurking this forum for a while, and everyone seems lovely. I still have a lot to learn/questions to be asked!
Looking forward to meeting you all!
