Wanted registered warmblood mare suitable for breeding but I need a riding horse right now, lower level dressage and trail riding. Gentle dependable and sound with no issues. Will consider mares in foal or with foal. Calgary area but will travel for right horse.

Hi..tall as I am 5'10" so 16 hands and over and well broke and quiet as I will mostly trail ride. I want to try to learn English as I am a western rider of many years.. No grey is the only color preference. Price depends on breed and breeding and conformation and if in foal but for just an ordinary riding mare would like to keep it under $12000. Have no idea what is the going price for what I want as I have been raising and riding QH's and Paints for 40 years....so am just getting into this. Would like to eventually end up with two mares, one being my riding horse...raise a couple of foals a year for sale and get involved in a breeding organization as a retirment project. A good big Paint or a warmblood cross with the Canadian Warmblood asssociaton isn't out of the question.

I have a 1996 hannoverian X TB mare for sale. 15.3 HH, bay mare, registered. She was sired by Wodan (a 6' jumper champion in Europe) and, unlike many of her half-sisters, has a very sound mind. I've had her since she was a 2-year-old and she's very well-schooled in dressage and a talented jumper as well. I've always ridden her on trails and by busy highways, and she is fantastic. I'm asking $8000 for her, but can negotiate on that. Drop me a PM if you're interested in meeting Keri.

Oh yeah, I'm using her as my "lesson horse" right now for my 8-year-old niece. Keri isn't really a beginner's horse (because she's not always easy) but she's safe and extremely trustworthy. She is totally fearless and a real suck with people.

Thank you Erika but since I am 5'10" I think I would prefer a mare over 16 hands probably in the 16.2 or 16.3 range. Your mare sounds very nice though. I will need something really easy as I have only ridden western all my life....I think the perfect horse for me may be very hard to find it seems.
