This isn't horsey, just selling myself for money

I'm participating in this year's Edmonton Underwear Affair, sponsored by Joe Boxer. The requirement of all participants is to pledge to raise a minimum of $300.00 in donations, made out to the Alberta Cancer Foundation to fund the treatment of cancers below the waist such as colon, prostate, cervical etc...
I honestly joined this just cause I wanted to participate in a 10 km race (haven't been in a race since living in BC, there aren't many here). Then I found the undie run, and just thought it'd be fun to run in something bizzare. But I got into reading some of the team's stories, many of them running in memory of a loved one lost. I don't know anyone lost to cancer, but I know what it's like to lose someone when you feel their time has been ripped off.
Not only I pledge to raise at LEAST 300 bux (I'd like to get close to 1000), but I've joined the elite 10 km division (men under 40 min completion, women 44 min and under). I've been running since '98, haven't raced since '04... So I've taken myself from easy runs to maintain mental health, to pushing myself like I haven't in years. Virtually working my butt off. It should be fun to see how well I do, to find something dorky to wear and will feel good to do something for the common good for a change.
I have 110.00 more to go, but would love to raise more. Anyone who wants to help can go to the above link, click on 'donate now', then search out registrant "Shannon Miller". Payments can be made online through cc, or mail in with a printed out donation form. Deadline for mail in's is May 22nd.
Thanks for reading my boring drivel, I'll appreciate all the help and motivation I can get.
OH and costume/garb ideas are more than welcome, I have a few floating around but havent decided yet. I'd liek to go for something dorky/sexy/weird. I'm not shy either, as long as it's not anything that will chafe and botch my speed.

My husband and I are also running in this race!
We are running in support of a co-worker of mine. She was diagnosed with ovarion cancer about a year ago and is now in remission.
As for the underwear part, we'll all be in military men underwear (as far as I know) as most of us in our group are military including my co-worker.
We are all avid runners ourselves. It should be a good run!!

How is the donation collection coming along? I'm not part of a team, I dunno anyone who runs. SO I'm stuck all by my lonesome looking like a complete tool dressed in something gawdy lol.
Oohh your gonna be in a military man's undies? Count me in! lol j/k... just had to toss that in there.

We're all pretty much set to go on donations. There are 7 of us all together together but it didnt really take much to bring in donations....just show a little leg, jk!
Gallamist...that's my handsome Cow in my pic. He is usually referred to as "The Cow" because of his size and not so much of his colour anymore. His name suits him at least!
