My furry creatures.
Hello Everyone! Glad to see an Alberta Horse Forum!
I've recently moved to Alberta a year and a half ago from Nova Scotia with my husband and of course my furry creatures came along.
I've been bitten by the bug when I was 5 and fell in love with a Shetland pony named Max. I quickly drove my parents crazy and they put me into lessons and had my first horse when I was 9 when they realized the horse obsession wasn't going away. I started out with barrel racing and other gymkhana events when I was 10 then soon found interested in english. I've competed in low hunter classes, english pleasure, western pleasure, trail, halter...just about anything I could get my hands on. Its now been a while since I have shown since growing up tends to get in the way but in no way have my horses suffered from this!!
Onto the furry friends.
First horse is my retired barrel racer. He's a sorrel quarter horse by the name Little Sorrel Star. "Diesel" will be 27 in 5 days. This is that horse when people say you're only allowed one great horse in your lifetime and this is him for me.

My second horse is a 9 year old Appaloosa/Paint cross which I owned since that day he was born. He has competed in mostly english events with my sister and I. Robins Flashy Boy "Cowboy" has a passion for jumping..and it doesnt exactly have to be a crossrail.

Ive also own a 9 month old German Shepherd named Indiana and a 9 year old Boxer/Lab cross named Toby and of course a lovely husband.
Hes only about 7 months here.

Thank you!
Diesel is still quite the horse..even for his age. You are right, German Shepherds are wonderful dogs and he is one of the smartest dogs I've owned.

aww, I love your critters! Deisel has one kickin body on him still, beautiful... Your 'paintaloosa' is just adorable, I love his stocky build and his colour is way cool (don't make me contemplate a paint stud for my appy now lol!)
I have a Diesel horse too, he's got as much muscle in his whole body as yours does in one side of his rump haha! Must be sumthin in the name cause Diesel is my 'one' as well.
Your german shepard is georgous too.

Paintaloosas are always intrigueing to look at.
I must post pictures of Cowboy's change of colour as he aged. He went through a huge transformation. He was a regular black and white tobiano when he was born..and now...well I still dont know what colour he is. Perhaps a red roan? lol

Yeah some appies sure roan out a lot as they get older, some are born solid and show spots later on in life. They are never boring lol.
My girl has roaned out a lot over the years I was told, I just got her last November so I'll find out for myself lol.
I love your display pic of him, he's an awesome looking boy.
