Guest Ranch Empty Guest Ranch

Post  mollyr Mon Apr 13, 2009 9:55 pm

Me and my family want to go on vacation to a dude/guest ranch in the summer.
Does anyone know of a good one either in Alberta or BC??

The only one I've been to is in Green Lake, BC called the Flying U. It's a really pretty area, and nice trails! Been a lot of years since then, but it's worth a look.

Guest Ranch Empty Entrance Ranch

Post  Painted Geisha Sun May 10, 2009 1:27 pm

My husband and I stayed at the Entrance Ranch last fall. It was great. They have three cabins (nice and rustic) and lodging in the main house. We stayed in the little cabin with a queen and a single bed, gas stove, wood stove, fire pit, TV, and bar fridge. The trail ride was fun and suitable for a confident beginner, they do have harder trails, for more experienced riders. The host was nice, the rates were good and the horses looked well cared for. Their feet were good, they looked well fed and there was even one horse in the pasture that was at least 30. It showed me that they cared about them, not just farming them out when they weren't making money anymore. I would really like to go back there with a big group and rent the big cabin.
Be aware, there is the Old Entrance Ranch and the Entrance Ranch, they are across the road from each other by Hinton.

I have never tried this one but I have heard lots about it as we camp right beside it. I beleive it is called Red Lodge Guest Ranch. It is next to Red Lodge Provincial park, just west of Bowden, AB. I was going to go out there for an afternoon when camping last year but couldn't get anyone else to come with me.
