My Babies :-)
Just an intro and brief history of my critter kids. Just to bore you all with :-P
Here's Dancer, an appy mare I traded my adhd arab gelding for lol. She's apparently 11 and was sold to me as a 'been there done that' horse. She was on a secluded farm for some years, so the change was a lot for her. I don't ride her often but she gets oodles of attention and love. She's a sweet and calming horse to be around, has a ton of energy under saddle and it took me a while to teach her that just cause I'm on her, doesn't mean we're gonna rip it up lol. I look forward to taking her out to the trails this summer :-) I've loved appies since I was a kid and semi leased a few, I knew I'd have one one day.
Here's Diesel, my lil baby bs paint. He's 3 this June and our under saddle training is going great, I just started his in cart training last fall just before the snow fell. I'll be strapping the cart to him again soon once the snow melts more. I've had him since birth, and it was truly love at first sight. I never planned on raising a baby but I had to have him. I'm just keeping him a pleasure ride and cart pony. The goal is kid broke, for my nephew/nieces and maybe my own. He's gonna hit the trails with me this summer so we'll see how it goes.
flippin thru the pages of western horseman.
this is Diesel "spooking" lol
Dis is Bella, my clyde mix pmu rehab. Her past includes bronc training, pmu barn and the auction where she was purchased from a client and my husband INSISTED he buy her. I thought he was nuts, she was barely handleable. Couldn't touch her feet, could barely groom her. She was also inutero to a tb, which we didn't know about until her belly moved one day lol. After Spidey was weaned her training begun, I hired a friend and past client to help us cause she scared the hell outta me. But we quickly learned she isn't to be feared and in turn she learned the same of us. Since we've had her in the trails, took her camping and she was the groom's ride in at our wedding last august. I'm taking her to some shows and clinics this season, as well as another camping expedition, trail rides and getting her more used to the roads and commotion. She's got her quirks, like going 'feral' when she's turned out without her halter lol. But with a past like hers and starting training so late in life, she's doing better than I could ever have asked for.
Proud mama and baby. We sold Spidey to some very good friends and past clients who loved him since the day he was born. We were tickled pink to make them so happy. We'll breed her once to a Gypsy Vanner (definately keeping that one), but after that she's gonna be kid free lol
I got more critters to add, of the non horse kind. But I gotta get off this thing for now lol

Re: My Babies :-)
My non horse babies, I'm somewhat of a critter freak lol.
Courtney, aka: Oinkers... my pride and joy, had her since a tiny weaner (pun intended LOL). She lived in the house until her baby days were done and she needed more time to root and play. We've taken her camping, I used to take her to my dad's place in Spruce Grove as well... he was sick and she really picked him up. I had her at our wedding as well, we trucked her in with the quad and manure trailer (yes me the bride sat with her in the manure trailer, in my dress lol). She's free range around the barn and yard all day and goes in her stall with her hens every night. I don't think a single animal has ever made me laugh so much.
she likes the closeups, but worries about the camera adding ten lbs.
at the wedding, taking a break from workin the crowd
hmmm, so this is why she retired to her sleeping quarters so soon....
Courtney eating all the pretty flowers, tulips and daffodils are my favoritest happy flowers.
Now for the doggies, Diesel (border collie) Sobo (collie/shep) and Lucy (shepX). Lucy is the boss, as you can tell lol
A fun lil group shot of a bunch of them lol. Courtney and her girls were helping me clean up. chicken's names are Ella, Emma and Emily.
Bubbles, making sure his dander attacks our clothes before they even have a chance LOL
Chester, before he lost the tips of his ears and tail to -30 for two weeks (not the smartest cat, hid under our storage container)
Mow, just mowed out.
Just cause I know people likes pics!

The clyde X is sooo pretty, she has beautful eyes and has a very sweet look about her. I like all the color on your appy too.... very flashy!
You have a regular hobby farm there.... the picture of bella with the pig and dog and chickens is quite cute!

Re: My Babies :-)
Spanx! Bella is pretty timid, thinks the world is out to get her. But she's never one to freak out about her fears, I urge her through them. Funny, under saddle training was the easiest part... farrier training NOT so much but I found a fantastic farrier who isn't scared of her and is highly skilled with problem horses. I've never learned so much from a single horse I can tell you that much lol. Dancer I found online, on kijiji... I was actually looking for an english saddle and only read her ad because I was showing my husband what I had in mind for my first horse years ago. I wanted a red roan appy with a spotted blanket (but really, would love any colour of appy lol). Then I read on that she was open to trades, as I had an arab gelding that I didn't jive with. Turns out she loves arabs and has two already... So everything kinda fell into place so to speak. She's got some issues with stiffness and her front left leg as you can tell from the one pic of her left side she never fully puts her weight on it, farrier thinks it's an old splint. I don't do anything nutty with her, but i speculate she's done some kind of western gaming such as barrel racing. Maybe why the splint, too bad horses can't talk geeesh. She'll be an awesome trail horse and someone to fart around on bareback in the summer heat, I'm just happy hanging out with her she's the most quiet and sweet cuddly horse.
Blather blather huh? lol

I sold them to family friends. They have to little girls so it is the perfect home for the two of them. I plan on going to visit them soon.

Oh spanx! He'll never be big and georgous, but he'll always be cute and will always be my baby. He's just my fun pony, gonna get him back in that pleasure cart soon once I dig out some patience for all the strappys lol. Being short comes in handy, you don't look too silly riding ponies.

Oh I hope there is an abundance of pics!!!!!!
