They're is one at the rescue that I work at that I think I'm going to start working with this summer. He's 18 years young and a good sturdy dude. Should be intersting.
saddlebred
They are quite the bred! My guys was a rescue also! I love him to peices. They are soooooo full of character! Truely amazing! Mines 11 in may and ready to be put to work! He is a very slight build though but very flashy and smark. Loves to be worked with

Gypsy_Vanner he looks big! How tall is he? Do you know if he is registered? Love researching the saddlebred bloodlines. If you do get to work with him, you will find they learn quick and want to please their rider/owner.

Re: Any American Saddlebred Owners
I believe we measured him at 15.2hh. He's a good solid boy that's for sure. Since he's a rescue their backgrounds and history are always foggy. I don't think we ever did find a tattoo or anything so he may never have been registered or raced.

You are thinking Standard Bred...American Saddlebreds are not used for racing.Gypsy_Vanner wrote:I believe we measured him at 15.2hh. He's a good solid boy that's for sure. I actually really like the QH cross with the saddlebreds. I owned one years ago and loved the cross. I am crossing my saddlebred mares with the Friesian for a registered Georgian Grande next year. One mare will be bred to a blk&wht pinto saddlebred stud, but my pinto mare is being bred this year with a Friesian. She is homozygous for the tobiano, so really wanting a blk&wht Georgian Grande!!

Here's my saddlebred Jazz, she is amazing, one of the most versatile horses I've ever owned, from cows to english to hunting in the mountains....she can do anything. The personality in this breed is like no other. They are incredible. KR

Wapiti I saw this mare for sale on Northern horse on your web site..... I was thrilled to see pictures of a saddlebred in the hills, keeping up with the best of them!! If I didn't have so many now, I would scoop her up in a heartbeat. She is stunning!

I actually have to edit that, she is no longer for sale, i thought maybe she would be happier being used more but i have a lot more time to ride this year. Last year work was insane, so didnt get to do much. I think she will stay with me for life now.
